PROPER BANKROLL MANAGEMENT

As the saying goes, nothing succeeds like success. Unfortunately, getting that first success can be difficult because you have no success to build on. The first step of a positive feedback loop is always the hardest part to accomplish and after that, it is nothing but smooth sailing. This is especially true for things like gambling where confidence and mindset are critical to your success. Getting your first success does not have to be as difficult as it is for many people because there are methods that you can use to help increase the likelihood of success and start your positive feedback loop right away. The first thing you can do to help yourself is to know how to manage your money also known as your bankroll.

The first step to bankroll management is to play at a stake that you can afford to play at. What this means is that you should not be risking a large portion of your bankroll on one hand, spin, pull, toss of the dice, or whatever it is that you do for the game you are playing. Instead, you should keep your bets small relative to the amount of money that you are starting with. A typical number of bets that is usually recommended is 100 lots for your bankroll which means on any given bet, you are not risking more than 1% of your total bankroll. By not risking more than 1% of your total bankroll on any given bet, you can lose 50 bets in a row and still have half of your starting bankroll left.
